DIY ::: Painted Wooden Letters Covered with Lace
One of the projects I made for my new Little was a set of KD wooden letters. She likes simple, pretty things, so I thought it might be neat to stick to a simple pair of painted letters and cover them with lace. Here is a little tutorial on how I made them...
For this project, you will need a set of wooden letters (I got mine at Hobby Lobby, I'm sure they also have them at Michael's), Mod Podge, paint and a paint brush, and some lace (the amount of lace you need depends on how tall your letters are. I bought enough to use on several projects -- see here. If you get enough to cover the height of one letter, plus a few inches, you should have enough width on your cut of fabric to fit the rest of your letters).
Start by painting your letters....any color you want! You will be able to see the color through the paint. A pattern might even come out pretty under the lace. After the paint has dried, use the letters to trace out your lace. Measure the depth of your letters, and use that measurement to cut out your lace layer. The depth of my letters was 1/4" so I traced the that far away from the letter and cut out the lace.
Cover the top of your letter with Mod Podge, and then place your layer of lace evenly over the the letter. Cut slits in the overhanging lace to accommodate for curves and edges. Then begin painting the sides of the letters with Mod Podge, and pushing the lace down over the edges.
That's it! A pretty set of lace wooden letters. These would also look fabulous in a baby girl's room!
Here is another cute project I made for my little...it is almost too simple to require a tutorial. I painted a large canvas in a light mocha color, and then painted curly wooden letters from Hobby Lobby and hot glued them on. So simple, yet so pretty. Enjoy!

Lacey Letters
Not the best picture in the world, but I just wanted to share this awesome and feminine new pair of letters I made. The top layer is LACE! They turned out way prettier than I could even imagine. Hope you're inspired!

Little.
This semester, I was blessed with another KD Little Sis. Our Big/Little Reveal was several weeks ago, and I feel awful that I am just now getting around to putting up these pictures (I know, I'm the worst), but hey at least I'm doing it now. She got initiated this weekend and I'm so happy she is now a Kappa Delta sister. Here are some pictures of the crafty things I gave her during our gift week, plus a few pictures from our Reveal!
Love you Little! Let's get dinner this week :)
